Bright Star

Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art-
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature's patient sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen Mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors-
No-yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to her her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever--or else swoon to death.
- John Keats

Thanksgiving was so good to us. Such a wonderful day full of gratitude for all we have. Like John Keats, I have a bright star. Sometimes I find myself wishing that she won't change, especially when I read poems like Keats'. Somedays I just want her to stop growing forever and just stay chubby and squishy.
I guess I just want her sweetness and innocence to "live ever" unchanged. That said, I look forward to next Thanksgiving and the one following that etc., because I know that wherever we will be and despite the trials we may be given, that we will have so much to be thankful for.

And it wouldn't be a gratitude post without my favorite Bright Star. He is the most steadfast of anyone I know and he inspires me to be better everyday - for that I am thankful.

This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for faith and family.
Especially this guy:

I am so blessed to have him in my life.
