Saint Valentine

Nick and some of the other law students in the J. Reuben Clark Society went to Washington DC Valentine's Day weekend. Since Emma (fellow law wife) and I were husbandless, we decided to make a date of the weekend and we drove the kiddos up to Yakima. Fun Fact: Emma and Matt have accepted a job in Yakima this summer which means I won't have to live without Emma and Will for 2 1/2 months. Que: double fist pump!

My sister and her kids also drove up.

Plus Chelsea was in town.

Guys, it was a full-on Valentine's Day love fest, Kardashian-style. She-She had unfrosted sugar cookies waiting for us to decorate when we got there.

The kids played their little hearts out and I nearly split my pants from all the binge eating.
If She-She is cooking, you best believe I'm eating.

Despite Will's unamused face, I think he had a good time.

The girls insisted on wearing aprons like Grandma.

Chicken Pot Pie V-Day style.
Seriously, my mom is too much! Heart shaped pie crust? Don't mind if I do.

The best part of the whole weekend was the Valentine's tea we put together. My best friend growing up had the most festive mom. Every year (from kindergarten to 10th grade) we would get together at her house for a tea party. We would dress up, eat petit sandwiches and enjoy the beyond perfect decorations that my friend's mom had set up. It was a little girl's dream! And I was sad to see us outgrow the tradition. However, we have decided to start that tradition in our family. This year was our first one, but I'd say it was a success!

We used tea cups that my Grandma got for her wedding!

As you can see we didn't dress up for our tea party. Or maybe PJ's were the dress code.

Look at those heart shaped cucumber sandwiches!
She-She = amazeballs!

The little girls loved their tiny teacups and Cole and Will ate some very manly chocolate croissants.

Although we missed Nick, it was a pretty great weekend!
