No Turning Back Now

I just signed up for the Leavenworth Marathon.

I will officially be torturing myself for 26.2 miles on Oct. 6th 2012. I have nervous pee just thinking about it. Luckily, my sister (Darel) will be running it with me. Nick will surely be ahead of us, killing it. The Wolverine will also be attempting this crazy feat with us.

Moo to Marathon begins the 1st week in June. (That's "technically" my first week of training with Hal Higdon's website) Darel and I have been running the past few weeks to get in shape for training. Seriously though, I'm so nervous. I don't even know if I can do this. I'm just glad a large chunk of the Kardashian Klan will be there with me.

Yakima's Finest, Part 2

I'm behind on blogging, so no FF today.

But I've got more pics of the kiddos, which is better.

After lunch at the Malt Shoppe we went to a park to play a little before nap time. 

Ev opted out of the jungle gym. She's taking it easy on the work outs lately. 

Scooting does wonders for the glutes. 

They did have a zipline. Grandma She She showed everyone how its done.

I wanted to impress everybody with my "penny drops." Well the bar was super high and I was sore from kick-boxing so Darel kindly offered to help me get up.

Yakima's Finest, Part 1

I know a lot of people think Yakima is lame.

I just think those people are haters.

Cuz Yakima is the bombdizzle.

There is stuff to do ... you just have to look harder than everywhere else.

The Portland Zoo came to us, so we decided to show them Yakima's "zoo."

AKA feeding the ducks at Randall Park.

*I apologize for the quality of pictures. I'm still learning how to use the camera. Pretty much every photo is overexposed. Workin' on it.

Ducks EVERYWHERE!

Scary geese. I used the lens to get this close. I was too afraid to get near that thing.

These two are the best of buds. They scoot/sit everywhere together. Keith kept saying, "Here Evie, take this bread. You can give it to the ducks." Evie responded by saying nothing and then stuffing the frozen bread in her mouth. See? BFFS.

Keith as usual, was the bravest of everyone and actually took "A Walk Among the Birds."

(I wrote both Tina Fey and Steve Carell asking them for a copy of the book and neither has responded yet.)

So we headed to the Yakima Malt Shoppe! Ice Cream, milkshakes, and sandwiches for everyone.

Dad and Nick were able to sneak away from work and meet us.

And we accomplished all of this by noon! Pretty good for four kids who all nap I'd say.

*Side note: A little outside of Yakima there is a convenient store called "Da Stor." We laugh so hard every time we pass it. Scrubby? Probably. But you've got to give them props for their creativity.
