Yakima's Finest, Part 3

Do you know what a Patti is?
A Patti is the best friend you could ever ask for. She is doting, loving, and she's got connections everywhere.

Oh, you don't have a Patti?
Well you can't have mine!

Anyway, Patti knows someone who knows someone at the West Valley Fire Station.
That someone agreed to give the kiddos an incredible (and personal) tour of the station.

The kids were in heaven!

Cole got to try on all of the gear that a fireman wears.

The firemen gave each of the kids their own fire hats.

The kids got to play on the fire trucks, fire bus, and they pretty much had free range with the place.

Everybody wanted to "drive" the trucks.

Our Patti.

The kids even got special permission from the Fire Chief to take a ride in the fire truck.

The firemen (I feel bad I can't remember their names) were the kindest men. They were so attentive with the kids and they made the kids feel so special.

At the end of the tour the firemen gave the kids gifts. Cole and Keith got Firetrucks, Ally got a Minnie, and all the kids got firemen badges.

It was the perfect end to a really fun day.

And this little girl would NOT let go of her Minnie.

Marlin

The weather has been pretty crummy since we got to Yakima. A few nice days here and there, but summer hasn't quite found us yet. Which sadly means we haven't had a chance to put Evie in the pool.

Today it was barely warm enough, so I thought we'd give it a go.

She hated it. Well, not completely, but almost completely. She whined, especially when I left the stairs. She really just wanted to get out. I'm hoping its because it was right before nap time/its not that warm.

She was just like Marlin, too afraid to leave the anemone.

Hopefully by the end of summer, we'll have a Nemo on our hands.
